Begin with Dialogue with God which depicts a child full of questions, who travels through the mysterious city of Angkor Wat.
Then learn about the history of the Cambodian civilization in The Glorious Kingdom before you will see Churning of the Sea Milk. This dance depicts the war between the Gods (devata that represents female energy) and Asuras (demons that represent the male energy) much like Ying and Yang, who are both dueling for the Elixir of Life.
Resurrection of God finds the hypnotic dancers entering a trance-like state around a ring of fire. This dance is depicting an actual story engraved within the stonework of Angkor Wat’s blocks – so this information would be kept within the sight of humanity.
Then comes the Prayer of Life, which represents the resurrection of hope and realization that good can triumph over the evil.
In the finale, the Smile of Angkor brings a message of happiness and is communicated through smiling. What this simple gesture does and how it effect people brings light to the world….and this is the gift that Cambodian people share – who by the way, are some of the warmest people in the world.
