If you love shopping and like to take home a full suitcase – Siem Reap is a bargain paradise…
There are many day and night markets around Pub Street, which is the heart of Siem Reap town…usually open between 8 am – 11 pm. There are plenty of bargains along the way…where you can shop ’til you drop.
The vendors sell an array of items from handy crafts, paintings, silver, clothing, jewelry, souvenirs, silk, stone carvings, food, drinks…and just about anything you want.
The markets are colorful, interesting and a great places to browse around – here you can grab plenty of unique items and all at low prices.
On the other end of the spectrum, there are many establishments who sell designer brands also…ranging from crocodile skin bags to make-up, clothes and accessories.
There is a plaza in Siem Reap dedicated to designer wear plus many small specialty shops that carry a whole array of luxury items.
Made In Cambodia Market
A little more expensive – but not much in comparison, here you can get some really unique things that you will not find in other stalls. More up market there are some unique items for sale which are only made in Cambodia which include silver, jewelry, clothing and silk.
A pleasant way to spend an hour or two, here you can dine in one of its fine restaurants or cafe’s and close to town it is a short walk from Pub Street.
TIP: If you want to get the best prices at the market – you can generally barter a few dollars with the store holders, depending on what you are buying.
Try to take some small denominations notes when shopping in the markets because it can be difficult for vendors to find change.
